Curious about oil painting but not sure where to begin? This welcoming, beginner-friendly class takes the mystery out of getting started with oil paint.
We’ll cover the basics of setting up your palette, choosing painting surfaces, understanding how much paint to use, cleaning your brushes, and deciding whether if you will need mediums. We’ll also talk about creating a simple, low-toxicity oil painting practice without relying on traditional solvents.

Class will run 5:30-8:30. The beginning of class will begin with short lecture and demonstration. The end of class will be dedicated to student painting time, with support from the instructor as requested.
